Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Welcome back to a new and exciting learning-filled year at Maynard H. Jackson High School. My name is Lawan Robinson and I would like to introduce myself as your child's Department of special Education (DSE) Case Manager. As your child's case manager and teacher, it is my responsibility to serve as your child's advocate and ensure he/she is being awarded the tools they require to succeed and experience maximum possible academic growth.
In advocating for your child, I will schedule/facilitate IEP meetings, make sure his/her IEP is updated showing their progress and remains compliant with special education requirements outlined by federal, state and local guidelines. I will also stay in contact with your child's General Education Teachers and other members of the DSE Team in regards to your child's education.
I would like to thank you in advance for taking an integral part in your child's education. As a team, we are looking forward to a very successful year and are committed to improving the lives of students!
